Young Hammers in the final at the first attempt

West Ham utd ladies newly formed under 10s trialist squad had there first outing today split into two five a side squads for a mini tournament that was organised by Trinity fc of southend.

The first game for the Hammers saw the two West Ham sides pitted against each other and it was a penalty that decided the game and gave the West Ham blue side the three points the blues went on to play two more games and win there league leaving the West Ham claret side to come in third place overall.

With the West Ham blues in the Final against Leigh Ramblers it turned out to be a  hard fought contest with the young Hammers just edging the older opponents with some nice passing football the game ended in a 0-0 draw, and so it went to penalties where the slightly older Ramblers sides experience won them the game.

Overall this was a great experience for eleven very committed young girls all of them enjoying a great day of football,  Managers for the day Dave Maslen and Luke Berry would like to thank Kim of Trinity fc for organising and putting on the event.

Young Hammers do the double

West Ham UTD 9 – 0 Snaresbrook

West Ham UTD under 10s went into there Essex county league cup final with Snaresbrook looking to do the double in there debut season, and the girls didn’t disappoint, the young Hammers settled their pre match nerves with a goal from the ever dependable Grace Hill, from this moment on the game went from what had looked like being a close affair to West Hams total domination of the game. Every attack from the young Hammers seemed to produce a goal or a near miss as the girls camped in the Snaresbrook half more goals followed with another three coming from Grace Hill, two from the ever improving Carson Barry, Isobel Mills bagged one along with Oliver Smith, and Morgan Ferguson scored a excellent long range shot that almost took the goal over with it as it hit the net. There was also excellent performances in setting up there team mates from Tessa and Maddie O”Conner, Rhianne Holmes, Imogen Bennet and a excellent performance from Sindi Kanto between the sticks. This game was the last competitive game that the girls will play together in a season that has seen them grow from a young raw talented side into a team that can now play football to a very high standard for there age, they have now proven themselves to be proberly the best under 10s girls team in Essex and for that alone they should be very proud of there achievements this season.
